Omantel to reduce international call rates
TELECOMWORLDWIRE-22 February 2005-Omantel to reduce international call rates(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
Oman telecomms provider, Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), has said that it will be reducing the cost of its international call tariff from 1 March 2005.
The company said that calls on its Worldcall tariff would be reduced by up to 33% to 140 countries, and will also include all Omantel and Oman Mobile Worldcalls. Omantel’s executive president said that the reason for the reduction in rates was to make the rates competitive and affordable across Oman, and provide cheaper global communication to businesses and government services.
Omantel also said that it welcomes the launch of a second mobile phone operator in the Sultanate – Oman-Qatar Telecom Company (Nawras) – and said that it would boost the mobile sector in Oman, reports Asia Pulse.
