Small print – Backpage Briefing – Brief Article

SMALL PRINT: An Australian court has ordered Jodee Rich, former MD of collapsed telco One.Tel, to pay his A$333,754 corporate American Express card bill. Rich argued that he did not have to because he had not read the small print, and because he only used the card for business expenses, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Rich said outside the court that even though the details of the card contract made him personally liable, he thought most people did not bother reading the small print.

Rich and co-MD Brad Keeling made headlines after One.Tel failed in March 2001 for pocketing multi-million salaries and bonuses while running the company into the ground.
