Service deployment system for edge-optimized business services

Service deployment system for edge-optimized business services – Premiere: latest products and services

Fiona Chau

Unisphere Networks has announced the availability of its SDX-300 service deployment system.

The product–leveraging the investment in Unisphere Networks’ RX edge router family–is designed to enable service providers to customize business services for their enterprise customers by streamlining the creation, provisioning, delivery and billing of network-based services, the company says.

It supports standards such as COPS, RADIUS, LDAP and CORBA for creating flow-through integration within existing OSS environments, and communicates service changes to intelligent edge points and then supplies the service usage information required for customer billing.

In addition, the Web-based portal feature of the system allows IT managers to dynamically change the service characteristics for their enterprise connections.

With the SDX system, service providers can generate additional revenue from existing enterprise connections including DSL, leased line and Ethernet, Unisphere says.

To address increased bandwidth requirements as new services are provisioned, Unisphere has also announced the availability of new multilink software services, as well as an OC-48c/STM-16 line module for the ERX edge router family.

The new enhancements for the ERX edge router family include support for Multilink PPP (MLPPP) and Multilink Frame Relay (MLFR) on any module that is channelized to fractional or full T1/E1 or T3/E3, as well as an OC-48c/STM-16 line module.
