Steady growth continued in 1994 for Wind River Systems, which saw total corporate revenue climb to $32.1 million.
Software revenue grew from $22.4 million in 1993 to $28.7 million last year. The firm’s net income shot up from just under $46,000 in 1993 to $2.5 million in 1994.
Wind River has positioned its VxWorks realtime operating system and embedded systems application development tools as able to ease the complexity of embedded systems design. It furthered this goal in 1994 when it announced availability of VxWorks for the R4000 family and its intention to support the PowerPC.
Ronald Abelmann was named president and CEO, replacing company co-founder Jerry Fiddler, who remains chairman.
