Database Management/Administration Program Supports Msde

MetaCommunications, Inc., Iowa City, Iowa, has introduced its latest software release package which includes a major upgrade of MetaConsole, MetaCommunications’ database management and administration program. The new version of MetaConsole facilitates and centralizes Virtual Ticket / Job Manager database management by allowing administrators to create database maintenance plans, restore databases, manage SQL Server settings and manage SQL Server Agent jobs through a single graphical interface.

The release package upgrade also adds support for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Edition (MSDE). MSDE is a no cost embedded subset of Microsoft SQL Server technology that provides local or remote database services for MetaComunications products. It is optimal for entry-level MetaCommunications system installations and can be easily scaled by upgrading to the full version of Microsoft SQL Server. MetaConsole is available directly from MetaCommunications or through certified partners worldwide. This upgrade is available free of charge to customers with MetaCommunications’ Software Assurance and Support program.
