Lundeen & Associates this month released a free upgrade to Web Crossing, its Web conferencing tool.

Version 2.0.2 fixes bugs in previous versions and adds some new features, such as FastCGI support. Lundeen & Associates said it recommends that all Web Crossing users upgrade.

The program’s site-management component can now move, export or delete individual items, and it provides support for direct HTTP (Hypertext Transport Protocol) request service, which the company said will allow the software to support users of Java clients across a fire wall.

Web Crossing 2.0.2 can administer cookies separately for new and existing users, and it will let administrators switch off the same-Internet Protocol checking feature, which the company said had been causing problems for users of rotating proxy servers.

Changes to the software’s chat component include support for moderated chat rooms and the capability to allow users inside a fire wall to chat with those outside the fire wall. Web Crossing 2.0.2 also adds enhancements to the user interface and template language.

The standard edition of Web Crossing costs $995; Web Crossing/Chat starts at $495. Upgrades are free to existing customers.
