Systems: Luminex adds 32x drives – Luminex Software’s Luminex LSX-CDL-100 CD Library – Product Announcement

Luminex Software Inc. boosted the access speeds of its 100-disc library system by adding 32x CD-ROM drives.
The Luminex LSX-CDL-100 CD Library holds four 32x drives and has a data transfer rate of 4.8 Mbytes per second per drive, the company said.
The $12,995 library comes with four read-only CD-ROM drives, but it can be configured with a mix of CD-ROM and CD-Recordable drives or as many as four CD-R drives. A configuration with one CD-R drive and three CD-ROM drives starts at $16,995.
The LSX-CDL-100 uses the company’s proprietary SCSI expansion technology, allowing it to take up only one SCSI ID. No SCSI expansion cards are required.
The included Luminex Fire Series software allows Mac, Windows and Novell NetWare clients to access the library, the company said.
