Ensemble Designs in April will release three new products for connecting Macs

to broadcast-video production environments.

At the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Ensemble will

ship new versions of its Networkable Catalyst CV Switcher and Keyer, the

Networkable Video Gateway MultiBuffer DS-1, and a new Serial Box Video and Key

Convertor.

The Networkable Catalyst CV Switcher and Keyer, a hardware box for converting

between analog video formats and digital video streams, will offer a 100Base T

Ethernet interface.

The Catalyst will include an RS-422 Control interface and a new control panel

and fader bar. It will cost between $10,000 and $20,000, depending on the

number of input and output channels and internal frame buffers.

The Networkable Video Gateway MultiBuffer DS-1, which converts graphics

between digital and analog formats instead of video, will also feature 100Base

T, Ensemble said. It will cost between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the

number of inputs, outputs and frame buffers.

The Serial Box Video and Key Convertor V, used to convert video and key data

between digital and analog formats, will include genlock reference input and

timing controls for communicating with a wide range of devices. The new Serial

Box will support 4:2:2:4, 4:4:4 and 4:4:4:4 sample rates.
