Ensemble Designs in April will release three new products for connecting Macs
to broadcast-video production environments.
At the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Ensemble will
ship new versions of its Networkable Catalyst CV Switcher and Keyer, the
Networkable Video Gateway MultiBuffer DS-1, and a new Serial Box Video and Key
The Networkable Catalyst CV Switcher and Keyer, a hardware box for converting
between analog video formats and digital video streams, will offer a 100Base T
The Catalyst will include an RS-422 Control interface and a new control panel
and fader bar. It will cost between $10,000 and $20,000, depending on the
number of input and output channels and internal frame buffers.
The Networkable Video Gateway MultiBuffer DS-1, which converts graphics
between digital and analog formats instead of video, will also feature 100Base
T, Ensemble said. It will cost between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the
number of inputs, outputs and frame buffers.
The Serial Box Video and Key Convertor V, used to convert video and key data
between digital and analog formats, will include genlock reference input and
timing controls for communicating with a wide range of devices. The new Serial
Box will support 4:2:2:4, 4:4:4 and 4:4:4:4 sample rates.
