A report from e-business company Worldport has found that web site downtime is likely to cost UK businesses GBP715m in 2002.
The cost of downtime in 2001 was found to have been GBP565m, indicating a predicted rise of 26% to the estimated total for 2002.
The report claims that the cost of downtime to UK companies is rising due to the increasing numbers of companies that are increasingly relying on the Internet for their commercial activity.
