Market research company Evans Data Corp has completed a study looking into the future implementations of web site developers.
The survey found that 39.5% of developers claimed that they would probably configure their corporate web sites to serve different content for different browsers. Similarly, a further 33.2% said they would “absolutely” be configuring their web site to serve varying content such as HTML, WML or XHTML.
Further results showed that 48.6% of developers would set cookies with wireless applications while only 10.6% claimed they absolutely would not. Additionally, the proportion of developers that intended to devote over half of their time to wireless applications grew from 19% in August 2001 to 24% in February 2002.
The survey questioned 600 developers from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America in February 2002.
