Voice Commerce Group introduces JerseyTalks! service

JerseyTalks!, the UK’s first Voice over IP (VoIP) community communications service, has been introduced by the Voice Commerce Group, a company set up to deliver commercial applications of VoIP technologies.

The service is managed by two Internet entrepreneurs and provides a communications and community information network for Jersey’s residents, including VoIP communication features such as free PC to PC calls and messaging capabilities.

In addition it delivers customised local information straight to the user’s PC – this includes links to weather forecasts, ferry, air and bus information. It also provides real-time news feeds – including local Jersey Evening Post news, the BBC and Channel TV – and features local cinema listings, radio and TV stations and Jersey attractions.

JerseyTalks! uses technology and services from the Voice Commerce Group and incorporates WhitePhone Enterprise which allows on-line communities to be created around almost any theme. The group said the service provides fast and low-cost communication and messaging tools for local people, combined with the delivery of local information to their PCs, enabling users to use VoIP and video messaging that is tailored for them.

A free voice and video mails trial of JerseyTalks! – www.jersey-talks.com – is offered over Christmas.
