Toshiba reveals new Internet fridge – Brief Article

Toshiba Corp has set the Japanese launch date for the first of its upcoming range of smart home appliances that link to the Internet.
The first product to be made available will be a refrigerator that allows its owner to register the food items that are put into it – the user may then go online and check the list of what is inside. The release date for this item in Japan has been scheduled for April 2002.
Toshiba also has plans to expand this technology to microwaves and air conditioners as well as a future smart fridge that utilises cameras to let owners see what is inside.
