Seekport reveals problems with Europe’s top listed company websites

Seekport, a European search engine company, has revealed that recent research has demonstrated that the web sites of Europe’s top listed companies aren’t being picked up by search engine crawlers due to poor web site design.
The company examined the web sites of the top 40 CAC companies and the DAX 30 and identified key problem areas such as complicated linking and confusing nested frames, inaccurate page titles and incomplete descriptions. As a result, search engine robots are not placing the sites at the top of their lists, costing companies online hits.
The research also revealed that UK web sites scored higher than French and German sites overall and as a result the company has recommended that German homepages be revised to ensure they use correct keywords within their HTML documents. In addition, French corporate sites were advised to reduce the use of complicated nested frames within their landing pages.
