Nielsen Netratings finds online advertising becoming more popular – Brief Article

A new study by Internet audience measurement company Nielsen Netratings has found that online advertising is receiving more page impressions.

There were 94.2bn page impressions in May 2002 compared to 53.2bn in May 2001 representing growth of 77%.

Retail goods and services advertisements were viewed the most, according to the survey, with 33.8bn page impressions for the duration of May 2002. Financial services companies were the second largest advertisers with 14.4bn impressions while web media came in third with 12.1bn.
