MMT deploys wireless broadband network for the Scottish Borders

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Communications networking company MMT Networks has won a contract from communications solutions provider THUS plc to deploy broadband access in the Scottish Borders in the UK.

Under the terms of the agreement MMT will provide wireless broadband services to 70% of the population in an area that previously did not have any broadband options, according to the company. MMT will also install the wireless equipment at the customer end for approximately 400 consumers that have registered their interest in a broadband service.

The broadband service will provide consumers with Internet access speeds of 512KB/s.

The cost of the service and the financial terms of the agreement were not announced.
