Kayak.com, a comparison shopping website for travel planning, has incorporated technology from ITA Software into its consumer travel site.
According to Steve Hafner, CEO and co-founder of Kayak.com, visitors to Kayak.com can see more options than any other travel site, including airline-direct airfares that exclude service fees commonly charged by online agencies like Expedia and Travelocity. Hafner also said that with the company’s MultiBook technology, consumers can choose where to book their trip.
Kayak.com is reportedly the first comparison shopping site to use ITA Software’s QPX engine. The company has said that QPX is faster, more efficient and more flexible than traditional airline mainframe-based systems.
