A UK-based Internet service provider has said it will pay the entire bill of a British girl who ran away from home after clocking up over GBP800 on mobile phone calls and surfing on the Internet.

The 16-year-old girl disappeared for five days after contacting BT to find out how high the bill would be but was traced after a friend sent a text message to her mobile phone and arranged to meet her.

World Online has said it will pay the entire bill and also provide the family with free Internet access for a year by signing them up to its ‘Freedom 24’ package which gives free Internet calls and access 24 hours a day. The service normally costs GBP14.99 a month.
