The Finnish Consumer Agency has reportedly decided that broadband connection providers operating in Finland must inform customers whether or not an account package includes anti-virus and firewall applications.
The agency has also sent the operators a notice, according to which they cannot describe a connection slower than 256 kilobits per second as ‘broadband’.
In addition the agency said that clauses that reserve the operators undue rights to unilaterally change agreement terms were excessive and illegal.
Cross-referencing manoeuvres were also prohibited by the agency, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
