eBid adds new services to auction portal – Company Business and Marketing – Brief Article
INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The UK online auction house eBid (http://www.ebid.co.uk) has restructured its portal site to include four sections – eBid.auctions, eBid.wanted, eBid.swap and eBid.co-buy.
eBid.auctions offers a normal auction format while eBid.wanted features a reverse auction format, which means that users post details of a specific item they want to buy on the site. Sellers then make offers online and at the end of the auction period the person listing the ‘wanted’ ad can decide which item to buy.
eBid.swap again allows users to list an item – new or second-hand – that they would like to swap for something else, with participants able to list up to five different items that they would want to have in return. And the fourth section, eBid.co-buy, is a co-operative buying facility that allows eBid users to lower prices by purchasing products or services in a group.
In addition eBid has applied its free listings policy – no buyers means no fee to site users – to each of its auction-based services.
