Denmark’s science minister Helge Sander has said that the country has no plans to introduce specific measures on preventing unsolicited e-mail, also known as spam.

Sander agreed that something had to be done about the amount of spam now being sent, but expressed reservations over suggestions for fees or taxes on e-mail and said that action should be taken at an international level.

Of all unsolicited e-mails in Denmark, 98% originate from abroad and just 2% are sent from Danish marketers, reported the Danish news agency Ritzau.
