Bellsouth announces new Internet pricing

Communications company BellSouth Corp (NYSE: BLS) announced on Tuesday (2 August) that it is offering a single low price for each speed of its BellSouth FastAccess DSL service for residential customers.

To promote its new pricing structure, BellSouth has launched a large-scale advertising campaign, which includes television, radio, online, newspaper and outdoor media, and focuses on the advantages of broadband Internet access over dial-up access, the company said.

According to the company, FastAccess DSL Lite, with downstream speeds up to 256Kb/s, is available for USD24.95 per month; FastAccess DSL Ultra, featuring downstream speeds up to 1.5Mb/s, is available for USD32.95 per month; and FastAccess DSL Xtreme, with downstream speeds up to 3Mb/s is now available at USD42.95 per month. There are no additional shipping and handling or activation fees, the company claims.
