Altitude deploys wireless broadband network in France

French telecomms company Altitude Telecom has had its WiMAX broadband technology chosen by the authorities in Vendee, France.
The technology will be used to provide wireless broadband services to the area via 20 base stations. Once the deployment is complete individuals and businesses will have the option of signing up to the service and accessing the Internet at speeds of up to 10MB/s.
The network is expected to be operational in June 2005.
