High-speed stats – Far forward: trends and analysis of Telecom Developments

High speed connections to the Internet increased 23% during the second half of 2002, according to statistics recently released by the Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC says there are a total of 19.9 million high-speed lines in service, 13 million of which provide services at speeds higher than 200 kbps in both directions. 10.8 million of those advanced services lines serve residential and small business subscribers.
