Handicap – Digest

To encourage every golfer to get a handicap, we introduced The Golf Digest Handicap in our August issue. Already, more than 12,000 players have registered for this free service at golfdigest.com/handicap. We still recommend establishing an official U.S. Golf Association Handicap Index. But until then, The Golf Digest Handicap can help you make matches with any golfer in the world fair and equitable.

For example, if you want to know how many shots you would get from Tiger Woods, the four 2003 major winners and a few other notable tour pros using the Golf Digest Handicap system, see the chart below. All of their handicaps were calculated using the yardage of courses played and their 10 most recent tournament scores (through Aug. 31).
