NACORE International holds annual banquet – Brief Article
Celebrating real estate achievements at the dawn of a new century, the NACORE New York Tri-State Chapters Ninth Annual Awards Banquet was attended by chapter members and guests from New York, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Over 650 real estate professionals came to honor award recipients at the organization’s biggest annual event.
The award recipients were Art Elman, senior vice president of ADP, who was named “Outstanding Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year,” and Boston Properties, which was named “Developer of the Year” for its new building project at 5 Times Square. Bear Stearns project team was awarded the Chairman’s 2000 Project Award for its new global headquarters being built at 383 Madison Avenue.
Brian G. Schwagerl, Esq., president of NACORE New York and senior manager of facilities planning for The Hearst Corporation, said “Tonight we are honored to recognize outstanding individuals and companies who serve the city and region as developers and implementers. As we move forward into the new millennium, these visionaries uphold the highest standards of excellence and ingenuity in the building and preservation of real estate.”
The theme of the dinner was “Real Estate 2000: Business in the E-Commerce Age,” celebrating the age of the Internet. Omar Wasow, cyberspace pioneer, addressed the audience on how real estate is being positively redefined in a digitized economy.
Proceeds from the dinner benefit several New York-based charities, including the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF) and Student Sponsor Partnership.
This year’s celebration was once again a successful tribute to great achievements and to the challenges of the new e-commerce business environment, which is certain to be a driver of the next century.
