Fate of D’Arcy’s YP unit still to be determined – D’Arcy, Masius, Benton and Bowles yellow pages – Brief Article
Publicis Groupe has announced it is disbanding its newly acquired subsidiary advertising agency D’Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles, but the fate of D’Arcy’s yellow pages unit is still in question.
A Publicis spokeswoman said a decision has not yet been made about closing the unit itself or the Northbrook, Ill., office where D’Arcy’s certified marketing representatives are located.
D’Arcy Directory Marketing is the sixth largest yellow pages agency in the U.S. Kathleen De-Caire-Aden recently became the company’s managing director.
Publicis, the French-based advertising agency behemoth, acquired D’Arcy last month for $3 billion. Publicis also owns the agencies Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Saatchi & Saatchi has a CMR agency headquartered in Fairmont, N.Y., headed by Christine Withers.
D’Arcy’s advertising clients and most of its employees are being transferred to other Publicis units. More information on job cuts and cost savings are scheduled to be announced today. Contact info: D’Arcy Directory Marketing: 847-559-1970 or www.darcyyp.com
