Panasonic Malaysia plans to double mobile phone market share

By the end of next year, Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd is planning on capturing 10% share of the local mobile phone market from the current 5%. The company managing director Jiro Tomotani announced this after the launch of its new hand phone, the Panasonic G50,

“For the G50, we will be spending more than RM1mil in advertising and promotion in the electronic and print media as well as in conducting road shows.

The mini-size colour hand phone is priced at RM899 and is tri- band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz, The Star reported.

According to Tomotani, with the Panasonic’s experience in telecommunication technologies, it is confident that it would become a trendsetter and major player in the mobile industry.
