The VAQ-137 Rooks, based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, have achieved ton, have achieved a number of highlights in the past couple of years. They spent 159 consecutive days at sea during Operation Enduring Freedom which included three months of 400 flight hours per month with their four EA-6B Prowlers. In the process they logged 254 combat sorties. The Rooks were also the first Prowler squadron to fly with Night Vision Devices.

VAQ-137 was awarded the Chief of Naval Operations Safety “S,” the Commander, Electronic Attack Wing U.S. Pacific Fleet Prowler Squadron of the YearAward for Tactical Excellence, and the Commander, Pacific Fleet Retention Excellence Award.

The Rooks won the COMNAVAIRPAC Battle E for 2001 and they were presented the ADM Arthur Radford Award for Excellence in Electronic Combat.
