Onions Etc. new produce handler ready

Retailers, wholesalers and growers have a new year around grower-shipper and repackaging company of onions. The company will also ship asparagus, cherries, peppers and pears. Onions Etc. began operations May 10, 2001.

According to Derrell Kelso, one of the principles of Onions Etc. Inc., “We will introduce new innovative retail packaging that is designed to communicate desired product information to the consumer. We will begin packaging onions under our new “Home Grown” label in bags that will list the growers name, nutritional values, recipes, confirmation of food safety and a Web site for more information.”

Loren Maltbie and Kelso who have a combine total of 35 years in the industry will handle sales. Ron Willis will oversee the office operations and has 25 years experience in the produce industry. Derrell Kelso Sr. with 40 years experience in sales and marketing in the agriculture industry will oversee the marketing responsibilities of the company.
