Vitamin E for burns – Letters – Letter to the Editor

Anna Smosna

In your Nov./Dec. 2003 issue, I read of a remedy which I have been using for years. I run cold water over the burn for a few minutes, then I apply vitamin E from a natural vitamin E capsule on the burn. It takes the pain away immediately and usually will prevent any blistering or scarring. Since I burn myself frequently in the kitchen while baking, etc., I keep a very small jar with vitamin E in it handy. The vitamin E sold in a small bottle doesn’t seem to work. You must use the natural E in a capsule. Try it and see. Then you can share this tip with your readers.
