An Albertan of Ukrainian origin, Hlynka (1907-57) played a prominent role in public life between the middle 1930s and middle 1950s, and the provincial centennial of Alberta seemed a good opportunity to remind another generation of Canadians how he helped rescue Ukrainians from refugee camps, aided them in the Americas and elsewhere, and contributed to the principle of plural citizenship in prairie Canada. Here translations of part of his autobiography and diaries are combined with selected speeches, and press accounts of him. There is no index. Distributed in the US by Michigan State University Press.
