Ed. by Rosa Cintron et al.
Univ. Press of America
Three academic affairs and higher education scholars from Florida State U. and U. of Oklahoma present a guide to higher education institutions for responding to the death of a student on campus. Nineteen essays offer practical advice on forming response teams, policies, and relationships with law enforcement; understanding and organizing responsibilities such as telephone notification, spiritual mentorship, funeral arrangements, and assistance to the grieving family; managing student population issues; holding remembrances; and dealing with legal and image repair issues after a student death on campus. The concluding chapter comprises instructional scenarios for crisis response team training. Case studies are included.
