More facts – animals and plants and humans depend on each other

The Land of Us doesn’t really exist. Animals of one kind really don’t help animals of another kind on purpose. But different kinds of animals–and plants–do depend on each other for their survival. It’s all part of “nature’s web”–where everything is connected to everything else, like the parts of a giant spider web.

Humans too depend on nature in countless ways. Without plants, we’d have no oxygen to breathe. Without soil, we’d be unable to grow the plants we need for food. Everything we make and use comes from nature.

People also depend on each other. And one great way to show that is by helping each other help nature. Check out pages 28 and 29 for some great tips on how to join the fun.
