Weekenders

Kay Goldstein

I have an alternative suggestion to the one offered in “The Weekend Waistline” (February 2004). Rather than restrict weekend calories, one should restrict food intake during the week and then allow certain “treats” on the weekend. People can still lose of maintain weight, depending on what their total intake is for each week. This seems to help them stay with a diet regimen during the week because the “deprivation” is time-limited and rewarded.
