Men and therapy

Thomas Westgard

Is this what men can expect from therapy-getting blamed for everything? (“Man’s Last Stand,” August.) Women set men up to fail in marriage. From the beginning, the therapy is undermined by the wife’s hope that the therapist will undertake to explain what she won’t. No wonder men are hostile to it. The truth is more complex than blaming one gender. More important, laying fault solely at the feet of men will not get them interested in therapy–or in repairing a failing relationship.
