Introverts object – Feedback – Letter to the Editor
“Don’t Worry: Be Extroverted” (June 2003) continues the myth that introverts aspire to become extroverts. As a long-time introvert, why would I? I’d just as soon get a brain transplant.

I was disappointed to read the negative, misleading reference to introversion. Introversion is not the same as shyness or sadness, anymore than extroversion is identical to confidence or happiness. They are just different ways we relate to the world, and have nothing to do with emotional health.
