Boycott ExxonMobil – international campaign against corporation’s social and environmental policies – Brief Article
London
On July 11, the Stop Esso Campaign unveiled a billboard of George W. Bush getting “tanked on Esso,” outside the local headquarters of ExxonMobil (which markets its British products under the name Esso). The billboard was part of an international day of action against ExxonMobil. Protesters object to the company’s efforts to squash the Kyoto Climate Change Treaty, its alleged human rights abuses in the Third World, and its support for George W. Bush.
Protests against the company took place in fifteen other countries and in twenty-seven U.S. states. The Stop Esso Campaign is calling for a boycott of the company.
