Flexible Cable and High-Intensity Light Reaches Areas Other Flashlights Can’t Match

EAGLEVILLE, Pa. – January 3, 2005 – Streamlight Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance flashlights for automotive and industrial applications, today announced the introduction of the Stylus Reach 18 LED flashlight, a high-intensity pen light that features a flexible extension reaching more than two feet to illuminate concealed areas that other flashlights can’t reach.

The Stylus Reach 18 is the latest addition to Streamlight’s Stylus family of pen lights, joining the original Stylus[R] and Stylus Reach[R] with a seven-inch flexible extension. Stylus Reach 18 has an 18-inch super-strong, flexible steel cable insulated with PVC that extends to 25.5 inches.

“The new Stylus Reach 18 can be maneuvered into tight areas that are virtually impossible for other flashlights to reach,” said Walter Kaihatu, Streamlight vice president of sales and marketing, who noted that automotive and industrial professionals have relied on the original Stylus LED flashlight as an inspection tool for nearly inaccessible areas.

“The Stylus Reach 18’s cable strength and reach now makes it possible to bend the light around mechanical parts and reach into very confined spaces, making it a perfect tool for automotive and industrial users. Plus, it has great power and reliability,” he said.

Providing long-lasting power, the Stylus Reach 18 is built with a virtually indestructible LED, available in Arctic White or Ice Blue, which lasts for up to 100,000 hours of use, and provides up to 12,000 millicandelas of light. Using three AAAA batteries, the Stylus Reach can operate for up to 60 continuous hours.

Constructed with a tempered aircraft aluminum casing and a PVC-insulated cable extension, the Stylus Reach 18 offers waterproof protection. It also features a textured grip for non-slip handling, which makes it easier for technicians to maneuver the light in slippery or wet conditions.

The Stylus Reach 18 offers momentary and constant “on” switching for user convenience. The flexible steel cable can be draped around the neck or wrapped around the arm for easy use. The light also comes with Streamlight’s “No Excuses” limited-lifetime warranty on the body and switch. The suggested retail value of the Stylus Reach is $34.95.
