Philip Ghantous
BLOOMINGTON – Philip E. Ghantous, 46, of 1211 Royal Pointe Drive died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, La.
Born Sept. 10, 1956, in Amineh, Lebanon, to Emile A. and Amineh A. Eldarzli Ghantous, he married C. Marcela Parra on March 8, 1986, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Peoria; four sons, Adam, David, Nathan and Joshua, all at home; two brothers, Hassib (and Helene) and Waheeb (and Roula), both of Peoria; and one sister, Victoria (and Naim) Ghantous of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He received a master’s degree in business from Illinois State University in Normal.
He had worked for Illinois Power Co. in Clinton and later in Decatur. He last worked for State Farm Insurance Co. He and his family also owned and operated Pocketful of Memories scrapbook store in Normal.
He was a member of Evangelical Free Church of Bloomington/Normal in Bloomington.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. The Rev. Rick Wagner will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Evangelical Free Church of Bloomington/Normal. Entombment will be in American Mausoleum in Peoria. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
