Call it ‘A Title for Toph’ – What parade?

JUSTIN PHELPS

Notre Dame High School has no plans for a parade to celebrate the Irish’s Class A boys state championship soccer team.

Athletics director Jim Heid said the school attempted to hold a parade for the school’s boys golf team, which placed fifth in Class AA a couple weeks ago, but the Peoria fire department told the school because of the construction downtown it would be difficult and unsafe.

However, the school will celebrate its state title in the gymnasium with an all-school mass today at 9:20 a.m., followed by an honors assembly at about 10:20 a.m., which is open to the public.
