Students donate to tsunami relief

The recreation therapy students in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at East Carolina University are reaching out to children affected by the deadly tsunami. The class decided to help, and began making corporate contacts to get recreation kits to children that survived the disaster. The class now has a structure set up, has raised more than $1,000, and has a local contact in Indonesia with United Way to accept the donations.

The class is also working on creating a slide presentation so that various teams can take it to other schools in the area for participation. For more information or how you can get involved with the effort, contact graduate student Tony Ammirati at aa1206@ mail.ecu.edu.
