Yahoo! bundled with Palm – Company Business and Marketing
Yahoo! Inc., a global Internet media company, and Palm Inc. have agreed to bundle a suite of Yahoo!’s Web-based services with the Palm family of handheld computers, including all current Palm III, V, and VII series products. The package is expected to be available later this year and will offer Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail.
From their Palm devices, registered Yahoo! users will have access to Yahoo! Mail, so they can read, write, reply to, and delete e-mail messages. Yahoo! Messenger enables users to send and receive messages instantly, and users can customize preferences drawn from the My Yahoo! pages. Palm III and V series users will be able to access these services online via a PalmModem accessory or by performing a HotSync operation. Palm VII users will be able to access the services wirelessly and instantly.
Yahoo! Mail is already available for Palm VII users and can be downloaded from www.palm.net and http://mobile.yahoo.com. This Palm VII Web-clipping application enables users to access their Yahoo! Mail accounts wirelessly, using existing Yahoo! IDs.
Palm users who are also registered Yahoo! users currently can take full advantage of the Yahoo!’ s Web-based services through downloads available at Yahoo!’s Mobile, which enables users to manage their wireless and mobile communication needs from one convenient online location.
