Art-Scan Pro 4.2 – Product Announcement – Brief Article
Art-Scan Pro 4.2 from Jetsoft offers improved documentation, easier installation, and improvements to its scanning and image-processing features, including descreening and scan sizing. Descreening is the process of removing the moire pattern of dots that occur when an original made by a printing press is scanned. The new DeScreenIt technology virtually removes the dot pattern without a softening or blurring effect.
Scan sizing lets the user control what the final scan size will be by entering a desired final width and height and locking that size. Whatever area the user selects will scan to the chosen width and height. Scan sizing enables scanning various sizes of originals to fit similar-size picture frames or display areas for catalog publication. Sizes can be entered in inches, centimeters, points, picas, or pixels.
The program also offers all the features needed for high-end scanning software, including Window’s ICM color calibration support, batch scanning, vector line art tracing, auto scanning, auto rotation, and line and noise elimination, and enables users to scan 48-bit color with any scanner. It gives the user control over the image with a full-screen preview, and operators can zoom in on small parts of the preview to color correct in a fast, full-screen spring-zoomed mode. Art Scan Pro 4.2 works on the Mac OS and Windows 95/98/NT/2000, and supports most TWAIN scanners as well as a number of scanners that Jetsoft supports directly with its own low-level driver.
