Indiana’s ‘Coins for Kids’ has successful third year
Using a program known as Coins for Kids, 30 Indiana banks have raised $17,752 for the Riley Hospital for Children, one of the 15 largest comprehensive children’s hospitals in the country and the only such hospital in Indiana. The program’s motto is: “We are Banking on Our Customers to Make Miracles Happen for the Kids at Riley Hospital for Children.”
The Indiana Bankers Association organizes the program and has done so for three years. “Five new banks participated this year, but the level of money raised has been fairly consistent each year that we’ve conducted a find raising effort,” said Laura Wilson, IBA vice president of communications. “We’re always pleased with the success.”
For one month in the year, the IBA supplies participating banks with literature and paper “coins.” Bank customers, as well as staff, buy the coins and the proceeds go to Riley.
