Banking

Aileen G. Boyle has been promoted to first vice president at Valley National Bank, overseeing all business and sales initiatives for the branches in the West Essex area. She joined the bank in 2000 and last September was promoted to regional manager. Boyle, who has more than 15 years experience in the bank industry, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Hartford.

Emily T. DeMasi has been named communications manager for The New Jersey League of Community Bankers in Cranford. She is responsible for press relations, publications and public relations for the League, which represents 71 community banks in the state. DeMasi holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Seton Hall University.

Michael C. Lombardo has been promoted to first vice president at Valley National Bank in Wayne. He is responsible for the management of all secondary marketing functions, as well as for the oversight of the accounting and correspondent lending group. Lombardo graduated from Valley’s management associate program in 1996 and has worked in the bank’s residential mortgage department since 1997. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from The College of New Jersey. Lombardo is also expected to complete his M.BA. from Rutgers University in the spring, with a dual concentration in finance and management.

Education

Dr. Gilbert Burns has joined Ross University School ofVeterinary Medicine as dean of faculty and academic programs. His responsibilities include overseeing faculty recruitment and hiring, faculty development, promotion, evaluation and annual reviews, as well as faculty-related budget issues. Burns also over sees overall academic programs including curricular design and implementation, student progress and evaluation, the educational environment and outcome assessment. Before joining Ross, Bums was director of admissions and associate dean of academic affairs at the College ofVeterinary Medicine at Washington State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his DVM and PhD. from Cornell University.

Richard D. Wellbrock has been named chairman of the Raritan Valley Community College Board of Trustees for a one-year term. He has been a member of the college’s Board of Trustees since 1985 and previously served as a vice chairman from Somerset County. Wellbrock also serves as chairman of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, the association of all 19 New Jersey community colleges.

Health Care

Linda Hecker, Burlington County College’s (BCC) director of dental hygiene, has been appointed to The North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, effective next month. At that time, she will begin administering clinical exams to dental hygiene students who are completing training and graduating as dental hygienists. Hecker, a certified dental assistant and registered dental hygienist, joined BCC in September 2004. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Thomas Edison State University and her dental hygiene degree from New York City College of Technology.

Law

VictoriaD. Britton has been named an associate at DiFrancesco, Bateman, Coley, Yospin, Kunzman, Davis & Lehrer PC in Warren. Britton will practice in the firm’s litigation group, where she will work in the areas of insurance defense and employment and labor law She is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Federal District of New Jersey, and the Connecticut State Bar. Britton earned her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston University.

Christine L. Zurich has been named an associate with Norris McLaughlin & Marcus PA in Somerville. She will focus her practice in the firm’s corporate law group. Before joining Norris McLaughlin, she worked for Anslowand Jaclin LLP. Zurich earned her law degree from Beasley School of Law at Temple University and her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.

Marketing

Bill Coughlin has joined Connell Foley LLP in Roseland as marketing manager. Before joining the firm, he served as senior marketing communications manager for White & case LLP. Earlier, Coughlin spent 15 years marketing high-tech products and services for AT&T He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fordham University.

Real Estate

Tom Stinar has joined BrokerBullpen.com in Princeton Junction as an account executive. He is responsible for sales and marketing for the Web-based software tool, which provides marketing and training solutions for commercial real estate brokers. Before joining the company, Stinar was a broadcast journalist for more than 20 years, most notably with CNN in Atlanta. He was a senior manager of his own multimedia business in New Jersey and has been a freelance broadcaster in the tri-state area. Stinar is a graduate of Bemidji State University in Minnesota.
