CA, Planetasia Launch Enterprise Information Portal
Computer Associates International Inc. [NYSE:CA], an e-business software company, has tied up with Planetasia – a Microland company – to offer an enterprise information portal called Jasmine. Planetasia, an Internet technology solution and services company, will act as a system integrator for Computer Associates.
“Jasmine will aggregate information and integrate it in a personalized format suiting the corporate needs,” Anand Sundarshan, CEO of Planetasia, told reporters at the ongoing India Internet World 2001 conference. The portal will be priced between $22,000 and $25,000 depending on the existing hardware base. The target audience for the portal will be large enterprises and government, the companies said.
Jasmine is branded as a personalized e-business workplace for employees, partners and consumers. Planetasia will receive a one-time fee along with a part of revenue for the maintenance of the portal.
Computer Associates has also announced the launch of BrightStor enterprise-backup storage software in India. The storage system includes hardware technologies like tape devices, tape libraries, NAS boxes and SAN equipment as well as software solutions, including data protection, storage resource management and storage infrastructure management.
