New Orleans Zephyrs unveil new ‘Boudreaux’ logo

The New Orleans Zephyrs unveiled a new logo last week featuring Boudreaux, the team mascot nutria, biting the word Zephyrs. Team caps will feature Boudreaux biting a Z.

Zephyrs officials hope the new logo will give the New Orleans franchise its own identity and allow fans in southeast Louisiana to identify more with the organization. The new look replaces a logo created in 1985 when the Zephyrs were in Denver. The team brought the logo along when they moved to New Orleans in 1993.

Alan Beam of Creos Design Group in North Richland Hills, Texas, designed the nutria logo. The Zephyrs’ season opener is April 8 versus the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines, Iowa. The home opener is April 16 against the Cubs.
