Versa Logic Corp. (Eugene, OR) has added an embedded computer to its line of PC/104-Plus products. The Cheetah board features a 1.6-GHz Pentium M processor, and is suitable for embedded control applications in medical devices, avionics, navigation/tracking, system monitoring, and security/homeland defense markets. The board measures 3.6 × 3.8 and includes on-board features such as two COM ports, two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, IDE, LPT, audio, and PS/2 keyboard/ mouse support. The board also features integrated video output with support for analog monitors and LVDS flat panels. The Extreme Graphics 2 video processor includes 3D rendering, full-motion video, and MPEti-2 decoding.

The PC/104-Plus interface supports both ISA and PCI addon modules. Standard PC/104 and PC/104-Plus connectors allow the hoard to he used in a stack with other expansion hoards. Il also may he used as a CPU module lor larger systems by plugging it into a proprietary baseboard that includes specific user I/O circuitry. The Cheetah includes a customizable, OEM-enhanced BIOS that is licld-upgradeable. It is designed to work with embedded operating systems, including Windows CE/XP/XPe, Linux, VxWorks, QNX, DOS, and other real-time operating systems.
