Barter fairs – green gazette – Brief Article
Heidi Hunt
Barter fairs (you might remember them from MOTHER EARTH NEWS’ May 1980 issue) are alive, kicking and growing in the Pacific Northwest.
Barter fairs are a cross between a counter-culture camp out, farmer’s market and meeting place. If you long for tie-dyed clothes, guitar music, campfires, tipis and trading, check out the five fairs that run during spring and fall in northeastern Washington State and northern Idaho.
