A&E Custom Mfg. Installs Two New Pieces of Laser Equipment
A&E Custom Manufacturing Technologies, Kansas City, Kansas, has recently installed two new pieces of laser equipment, an Amada 4,000-watt laser cutting system and a Virtek LaserQC measuring unit.
The company, which is ISO9001:2000 certified, offers a wide range of manufacturing services including: metal stamping; tooling; metal fabrication; laser and waterjet cutting; wire EDM; Mig & Tig welding; drilling /tapping; barcoding; assembly and packaging.
The new laser system is an Amada Gemini series with 4,000watts. Equipped to run with either nitrogen or oxygen, the system can handle carbon steel up to 3/4″ thick, stainless up to 1/2″ thick and aluminum up to 1/4″ thick.
The Virtek LaserQC features a 48″ x 48″ table and will be used for part inspection. It will be used to perform “first article inspection” and will help “mistake-proof” the inspection process. It will also enhance the company’s ability to reverse engineer parts.
“The addition of this equipment will have a profound effect on our ability to serve our customers better,” stated A&E’s Joe Sheehan, sales manager.
“Along with better pricing, we will be able to improve leadtimes, provide better quality parts and expand the types and thicknesses of materials you need.”
A&E also features Cutting Shop Software which has raster-tovector capabilities that can convert a sketch or drawing into a CAD file.
Customers wanting estimates can contact Sheehan at ext. 111, John Frala at ext. 112 or Emery Ek at ext. 125.
